Button concepts developed around recycled material inputs.
Our lab explores technology-integrated and lower-impact concepts with clients, technicians and research partners.

Button concepts developed around recycled material inputs.

Bio-based material exploration and documented product development.

Technology-integrated trim concepts for connected products.

Iterative development for unusual materials and applications.
The NZXTRIM lab supports fashion brands that need more than a standard catalog selection. Projects may begin with a waste stream, recycled or bio-based input, connected-product idea, unusual surface effect or performance requirement.
Our first task is to define what the button or trim must do: appearance, dimensions, garment application, expected testing, target quantity and manufacturing constraints. We then establish a realistic path through material trials, prototype samples, testing and production review.
Not every experimental material is immediately suitable for bulk use. We state that clearly and separate a visual concept from a production-ready specification, helping sourcing teams make decisions with better evidence.
For established materials, visit our custom button range or use the button designer to prepare an initial reference.
Material, function, dimensions, quantity and compliance needs.
Material trials and physical samples for design evaluation.
Testing and production review before scale-up decisions.
Controlled specification, quality checkpoints and bulk planning.
Clear information for design, development and purchasing teams.
The lab develops recycled and bio-based button concepts, material trials, prototypes and technology-integrated trims such as NFC and RFID components.
Yes. Feasibility depends on the material, required performance, processing route and order volume. The first step is a technical review and sample plan.
Some concepts are production-ready and others require testing. NZXTRIM confirms feasibility, testing requirements and scale-up steps after reviewing the brief.
